After the discovery call

What you get
after the call.

If the call shows a fit, Gina sends a one-page scope note within two business days. It is written as a letter, in plain language, and it sets the work, the timeline, and the fee before you commit. Here is an example.

Example only. The nonprofit is made up; the format is real.

Subject Your scope note: a fundable mentoring program

Dear June,

Thank you for the conversation on Tuesday. Here is what I heard, and what I suggest.

What you are trying to make possible
“We want our Saturday workshops to become a real program that a funder can say yes to.”
What is in the way
The workshops work for the students who come, but nothing is written down, there is no consistent way to show what changes for students, and the two people who run them have no time to write it up.
The smallest useful first step
A focused project to turn the workshops into a program outline and a pilot plan. I will interview your two workshop leads and five families, draft the structure with you, and build the materials for one eight-week group.
What you will have at the end
  • A one-page program outline: who it serves, what changes for them, and how each session builds on the last
  • Facilitator guides and participant materials for the first group
  • A pilot plan with two measures you can report to a funder
How long
Six weeks, starting the first week of the month after you say yes.
Investment
A fixed fee. Your real scope note states the amount and payment terms here, before you commit.
What I will need from you
Thirty minutes with each workshop lead, two check-ins with you, and one person who makes the final call on the outline.

If this fits, reply “yes” and I will send a short agreement and the first invoice. If something is off, tell me and I will adjust it.

Warmly,
Gina

Why it is built this way

One page.
Every decision in view.

A scope note is short on purpose. You should be able to read it in five minutes, share it with a board member or co-founder, and know what you are agreeing to.

Your words come first.

The note opens with what you said you are trying to make possible, so you can check that Gina heard you before anything else.

The smallest useful first step.

Work starts where a small test can show results. Bigger phases come after, if the first one earns them.

Deliverables you can hold.

Each one is named in a line, so you know what you will have in hand at the end.

Your time, named up front.

The note lists what we need from you, so the project fits around the rest of your week.

Your next move

What are you trying
to make possible?

Thirty minutes with Gina, no preparation, and one clear next step whether or not we work together. If it is a fit, your own scope note follows within two business days.
